Representative's Diary: I Took Part in a Cultural Exchange Event

Representative’s Diary: I Took Part in a Cultural Exchange Event

How I Came to Attend

The other day, I took part in a cultural exchange event hosted by our local international exchange association. Built around the theme of multicultural coexistence, it was an occasion where visitors could experience cuisine and traditional performing arts from various countries, and it drew many foreign residents and Japanese participants alike.

What I Noticed on the Day

At the Vietnamese food booth and the Chinese tea culture corner, exchanges sprang up through smiles and gestures even across language barriers. It reminded me once again that it is not only support with administrative procedures, but also opportunities for exchange in everyday life, that give people a sense of security.

Lessons and the Road Ahead

At this event, I also received many questions about residence status and visas. I felt the importance of getting information out to people, and the need for support at the community level. I want to keep taking an active part in events like this and contribute to promoting multicultural coexistence.

I will put the lessons and insights gained in settings different from our daily work to good use in improving our services going forward.
